Challenges
Here are the challenges that you can choose to try. Games submitted as part of a challenge are included in a separate judging in addition to the main competition, and the worst game of each challenge will be announced at the end of the main competition.
Challenge No.4
Our beloved “Uncle Clive” will become an octogenarian on the 30th of July, so in celebration, why not write a crap game about him?
To participate, send your Clive Sinclair-related entry to our email address, marking it as belonging to “Challenge No. 4”. You have until the 20th of August to submit your game. Good luck!
Challenge No.3
Well, with a new season (spring/autumn depending on your region) just around the corner, why not write a game that has something to do with it? Not a very detailed brief this time, I know, but that also gives you quite a bit of leeway.
To participate, send your entry to our email address, marking it as belonging to “Challenge No. 3”. You have until the 21st of April to submit your game. Good luck!
Challenge No.2
The 29th of January marks the 40th anniversary of the ZX80’s release! To celebrate four decades of the ZX line of computers, why not have a go at writing a ZX80 game?
To participate, send your ZX80-compatible entry to our email address, marking it as belonging to “Challenge No. 2”. You have until the 26th of February to submit your game (28 days for delivery, in true Sinclair fashion). Good luck!
Challenge No.1
I don’t know about you, but I always feel attacked at the start of the year, what with all of these January-based initiatives that encourage us to give something up (e.g. Veganuary, Dry January, etc.). Why can’t I just enjoy a life of gluttony and excess in peace? Sorry? Err… Oh yes! The challenge.
The first challenge is to write a game which has something to do with sacrifice. You must sacrifice at least one of the following:
